Me & my cars

Hello Briskoda!

I've been posting for a while on the Yeti forum as a prospective SM owner. Thought it was about time to say hello to the wider world of Briskoda.

I'm sure someone once said that a person's choice of car is a window onto their soul so I thought I'd introduce myself via my choice of cars over the years.

1. Ford Escort Mk1. Metallic brown. K suffix (c. '73)

A dog of a car, lasted about 6 weeks before a "friend" spectacularly crashed it into a wall.

2. Fiat 127. Copper brown w/ vinyl roof. N suffix (c. '76)

Teenage freedom! Great memories. Rust told in the end.

3. VW Polo. Silver. X suffix (c. '81)

Dull, worthy, wrote it off by hitting a dry stone wall in Yorkshire.

4. Lancia Delta. Silver. E prefix (c. '87)

Stylish, looked great but it was underpowered (only 1.3)

5. Rover 414. Metallic blue. K prefix ('93)

First ever brand new (company) car! Quite decent in its day.

6. MGF. BRG. P prefix ('96)

Loved it at the time. A bit like Shakin' Stevens though - looking back maybe it wasn't so cool affer all.

7. Fiat Coupe. Yellow. R prefix. ('98)

Loved the Bangle looks inside & out. Should have got the turbo though.

8. VW Golf GT TDi Mk4. Metallic Red. Y prefix ('01)

Great PD engine gave fantastic grunt.

9. BMW 120d. Red. 05.

Quality car, loved the looks (Bangle again!), but the ride on runflats was horrendous.

10. BMW 320i convertable. White. 57.

Great tourer but strangely sterile and grey leather was definitely in questionable taste

Quite a motley collection looking back but I hope the best is yet to come with...

11. Skoda Yeti 140 CR DSG Elegance. White/Onyx. 60.

My Czech wife approves. We can't wait - but we'll have to (Build week 47).

Thank you for indulging me on my trip down automotive memory lane!

Welcome to Briskoda.

Davy
