We are pleased for your interest in the Columbus RNS. TV Tuner for the Columbus was developed for the Superb only (this solution includes e.g. rear window fitted with aerial). Therefore we cannot provide you with any parts to connect the Columbus with your DTV box (at least it is not available within Skoda Genuine Parts). Such part should be provided by supplier of your DTV box.

7-digit ZIP codes will be available on the Columbus starting from 22nd calendar week of 2011. Please note that it will work only if you have both new navigation and new map-data. Whether you would have “old” sat nav, neither old maps – you will not be able to use this feature.

Best regards

Can anyone explain what they mean by the 7 digit post codes will only work on a new system, I would have thought they would be able to input them through a firmware or map update

Im guessing only the columbus units from that date on have the function within them to use full UK post codes!

Is that Czechlish for new firmware though?

I have re emailed them to ask just that question, as it does not seem right that it only applies to new units, when it should apply to all MFD3s

Ooops

I have just had a RNS510 retrofitted to my car.

Its a Version C (3T0) so hope that a firmware update will be available.

Look forward to what Skoda have to say in their next reply!

Sounds to me like you need both new columbus version and new maps for it to work and that makes sense. What is not clear is whether the new columbus version can be achieved through a frimware upgrade only. It probably will be though.
