beemer shark fin aerials?

Featured Replies

i searched the forums but nowt came up specific to this, so has anyone fitted a shark fin aerial to a skoda (specifically a fabia) that is not a fake one like loads of websites sell? Are official beemer ones the only ones that work as aerials? I think they look great  and as my garage door is quite low i don`t want to catch the aerial on it like i did with my old punto a few times. :thumbdwn: Unscrewing the aerial everytime i put my car to bed is a bit of a pain too. Yes i`m just lazy :)

TIA

I'd build a higher garage before i put anything BMW style on my car :D

i think its SAAB that use one also, looks more subtle imho

BMW Radio aerials are built into the rear heated screen, the sharkfin is as already mentioned used as a gps/gsm mobile phone aerial. You will proberbly need to get the fake one to use in place of the radio antenna.

so if i get a dummy one, how do i get radio reception with no aerial? non of the fake shark fins actually say they have normal rf reception. I`m starting to think of just getting a shorter aerial and colour coding the base instead.

If you want a shorter aerial its easy, pull off the rubber end, cut to required length and pop the end back on.

you can get a radio arial that goes inside the car..there around

Reminds me of the Estelles/Favorits with the aerial built into the glass sunroof.

I've got a 330 CD Sport, its got one fitted. and mines only got the blue tooth phone kit, no GPS.

I personally don't like them, they are a pain to wash around!
