Air con not working possibly leak

Featured Replies

Hi, I have got skoda octy II 06 with 100k on clock . I have had trouble with ac since I bought this car few months ago. I had loud hissing noise from behind dashboard. I had it regased by dealer where I bought it from and it worked for appp 2 weeks. I took it back and they had it for week. This time it worked for app 3 weeks. After that I took it to my friend to have it regased and to have dye injected.

I have got Uv lamp and glasses, but cannot see any leaks.

PLEASE would anybody have any idea what could it be. I am worried that it is the condenser. I do not even know where the condenser is and how difficult it is to replace it . Also someone mentioned drier (which again I do not know where it is).

Many thanks for any help.... :)...

it is very common fault for octII!!!!

The a/c is leaking around (big big white)nylon nut- on the top of condenser on the right hand side!!

Dye does not get there! So it is not possible to see it. You can try replacing the nut with brass one, but you can damaged the condenser and unless you can weld aluminium you will need to replace the condenser.....
