Wheel Nut Covers

Featured Replies

The first and last time I use a hand car wash , they have sprayed something on the wheels which has caused the wheels nut covers to turn white . I bought some off ebay which in the description where a Octavia fitment and they weren't the chavvy ones on there , they have since arrived , I tried to fit them but it turns out they are to big ,so in the process of asking the ebay seller to refund me .

Apart from the dealers where can I get some from that are the right fitment and the plastic removal tool that looks like a fuse puller but bigger cus I can't find one in the spare wheel kit and I don't fancy using pliers again .

Or is anyone selling any cheers ;)

When I lost a couple, I got a full set of OEM from ebay and they fitted perfectly. Admittedly they were listed as for a Fabia.

They arent that expensive from a dealer are they? Pretty sure ive got a spare set.

Try ZAKPARTS on the net. They sell a lot of VAG stuff and I have specifically bought wheel not covers from them in the past. Includes the one that fits the locking nut as well and the tweezers.

Genuine VAG - somewhat cheaper.

eBay can sometimes be more hassle than its worth.

Don't assume that your local Skoda dealer is going to be more expensive.

I bought a full set of genuine OEM wheel nut covers - including the different shaped ones to cover the locking wheel nuts and the little clip to remove them for less than £15 inc. VAT.

I bought a set from Zakparts. Ok at under £10. But as they say make sure that you order the correct set. It depends on the type of lock bolts fitted.

Take car along for them to look at it. They order parts .2 hours wasted.

Parts come in even if they let me DIY fit another 2 hrs used up. I can only go to dealers on Mondays or weekends so time scales can get very long. Unless I take a days holiday; and how precious is that? Oooh about £150 ph to my firm....

I'm probably too impatient and my time is more precious than money - so I prefer to buy off ebay etc. and get things done ASAP.

Exactly the same thing happened to me. I took it back to the dealer and they replaced them under warranty :D

When I replaced mine I bought some for a Polo from a VW Dealer so now have a black round wheel nut cover which is a little different.

Just measure the wheel nut to make sure you get the correct size, Some of the ebay sellers include 20covers but 5 arent locking wheel nut covers.

Do you think its the TFR the car wash has used that has caused the covers to discolour then ? :'(

Iv'e contacted the Ebay seller who can't understand why they don't fit so im stumped I just hope he will either replace or refund !

just bought from stealers 17 normal and 5 locking (1 extra of each) for just over £16.24. They were 80p for locking and 72p for normal each.

I had exactly the same issue plus they took the most of the paint off the brake disc hubs (now rusty patches!). I took them off and basically scraped and scrubed them, at least you can't notice it now unless you took them off and looked close up!
