WOW!! dropped the car body a whole 25mm (thats one inch in the old type measurement), hmm, the width of my thumb, hmm, certainly not worth the effort nor expense. ???emoticon-0105-wink.gif

rather then putting springs and shocks i found it was more cost effective to fit coilovers, mine cost me £200 and fitted them myself which was very easy!!

i have fk which i know get a bad press but i can't fault them as i find even with a rarb and poly bushes the ride is still very comfy and it gives you the freedom of lifting your car up if you need to very handing where i went to yesterday!! massive tractor tracks and a huge lump in the middle which has removed my splitter before when standard height,

i plan to remove mu helper springs this week for more lows ;D

much prefer the hand on the right emoticon-0110-tongueout.gif ...

slight tangent but . . . Anyone know where you can buy the bilstein shocks and springs? all i do is get confused with all this B2 B8 dampers, maybe i am just not looking into it enough, as i was wanting BILSTEIN SHOCKS AND SPRINGS STREETLINE KIT (45mm drop)

Have tried to google this (obvs) but nothing. Seems like a very good alternative to coilover, and i prefer shocks and springs, handle just as well if not better unless the coilovers are set up properly imo

How do the suspension bushes cope with the lowering, does it see the console bushes off quicker?.

Yeah, I'm very pleased with it; feels a lot better on the road. Perhaps a little more bouncy, but either it's settling a bit or I'm getting used to the slightly changed behaviour, as I've not noticed it the last few days. Overall, I think it rides and handles much better, and a lot less like a barge. I was concerned it'd be hard and crashy, and it so isn't. Less crashy than the standard springs I would say. Well, on the roads I drive on anyway.

Hope you had a good time at CC.

Well, seeing as my bushes were shot after 40k miles on the standard setup, I can't see how it could get much worse. I doubt there would be a noticeable difference, but can't say for sure. Perhaps someone who's done loads of miles on lowered springs will be able to comment.

Skoda have apparently changed the design of the bushes twice since the originals. The jury's out on whether the latest design has drastically improved bush life, as they've not been out long enough to get decent data and feedback.

Does anyone have a good recommendation for replacment bumpstops with the Koni/Eibach set up?

I have Koni's only on OEM springs which has had a massive difference on the road but the car does sit higher so would look to lower. But I have heard that some have problems with the bumps!

Not sure if mine have been uprated, the console bushes / top mount bushes have been. But its pretty comfy still with the Koni/Eibach combo I've got :)
