Just wondering what grade and what quantity of gearbox oil to use in my Fabia PD100 5-speed? I have a big service coming up and quite fancy doing the 'box at the same time

Use opie oils to check!

I think for the 6 speed it was 75/80 or 75/90

And 2.3l

Check opie oils for type for 5 speed

Just checked 2l required 75W-80

try somewhere like TPS, the general consensus is that the official VAG stuff is the best. I did mine recently and 2L cost about £15 from TPS. Easy job you just need a 17mm hex drive thingy, I got one from Halfords for about £4 - and undo the filler before the drain plug just to check!
