Under seat storage boxes

Featured Replies

My 06 VW Jetta goes back to the lease hire company tomorrow when they deliver my Elegance 2.0PD.

I was just about to go and remove my curry hook from the boot of the Jetta but was relived to learn on this forum that the Elegance comes with 2 fitted :)

I then started looking at the spec of the Elegance and noted it only has underseat storage on the passenger side!?

My Jetta has boxes under both seats. Can another box be retro-fitted to the drivers seat? I'm gonna miss it other wise :(

Yes - you just need to get your local dealer to order one for the passenger seat of a lhd vehicle - fitting might need the seat unbolting to get enough room to bolt it on

I've just been looking at the Jetta, thinking I might remove the storage box under the seat before she goes back hoping it might fit and match the colours of the Octy.

I came across this guide to fitting on Briskoda - http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/72459-how-to-add-underseat-storagebox-pictures/

Are these the same type as on the FL models? It looks a bit naff - being a door covering a box. The ones on the Jetta are nice slide out felt lined drawers. I'm assuming that the Golf/jetta/Octy have the same seat frames, they certainly look the same. So I'm wondering if it is possible to fit VW trays in the Octy.

Sadly I don't have enough time or the tools required to swipe a VW tray and try it in the Skoda, but I think I will investigate further, would be a neat mod if it works out, assuming the FL's don't now have the VW type drawers anyway.

While the seat runners and overall seat dimensions are the same, the actual design could well differ, inc the drawers.

Only way to know really is to try one - try to get a part number from the Jetta one before it goes back
