Alloy wheel fitment HELP

Featured Replies

Looking at fitting these to a Fabia

17" 7" wide fronts with 205/40/17

ET 55

17" 8.5 wide rears with 205/40/17

ET50

there genuine Porsche Twists....

now im wondering what size of adaptors i'll need for them to fit?

whats the standard ET alloys?

Basically im clueless and want to know what size i'll need

I dont want masses of poke just for them to fit nicely :)

why do i bother? Only a few weeks ago i did a write up. Its a sticky at the top of the page. There is a link to offset calculations etc.

If you have a problem pm me and we'll go throught it mate :-)

Ok that sounded harsh, didnt mean it too :p

right ive read it

standard fabia 6.5" et 35

The width of the wheel currently on the car. so 6.5"

The offset of the wheel currently on the car. 35

The distance from the inside of the wheel to the strut housing. ? no idea?

The distance from the outside edge of the wheel to the arch on the car. ?no idea?

I've spoke to a lad who put 25mm adaptors on the rear and 35mm adaptors on the front?

sound about right?

Offset is the distance from the mounting face of the wheel to the centre line of the wheel

So for example a wheel with an offset of zero would have a mounting face directly in line with the centre. If the mounting face was 10mm inboard of the centre line of the wheel the offset would be +10 etc

click the link for the offset.

type in your current offset and wheel width. it will then calculate the difference between what you have on now and the new wheels. then obviously you can work out how big the adaptors need to be. not all porsche twists have the same offset.
