Whistle - High pitched...

Featured Replies

It it prevalent under load or on acceleration. I'm not down on power or anything.

Having owned a B5 Audi A4 for 10 years which uses the same engine as the VRS. I cannot remember the whistle being as loud...

Is this normal? Cheers

Turbo whistle?

Turbo whistle?

Yup turbo whistle...

Then yes, it is normal :)

If you start the car and leave it running, then stand by it for about two minutes,

you will hear a high pitched whistle start to sound . If thats the sound you're hearing

then you're probably okay.

If whilst driving along you notice it starts at around 1500-1700 odd rpm.

But notice it less after that when pressing on as the engine gets louder :D

Then that's almost certainly the turbo spooling up and is quite normal

and part of the Fabia vRS soundtrack...

If you want a louder whistle then get a blueflame cat back or other

aftermarket exhaust it's even more noticeable

with one of those fitted. I love how it sounds

Turbo whistle = perfectly normal.

When it starts to sound like a police siren, then you need to worry!
