Door check strap / arrestor arm replacement

Featured Replies

My drivers door has developed a clicking, upon inspection it is the check strap at fault.

The Haynes manual isn't much help. Can anyone else advise on how to replace it & an idea of cost for the part.

Thanks :)

Just been to my local Skoda garage, they had a quick look & a bolt was only finger tight. A few seconds later & it was all fixed

For future reference the check strap is just over £10

I hope the advice/action was free...

It wasn't a main dealer I took it too

I'd be surpised if a check strap broke! They usually are guaranteed to snap if it was a 2 door & a Fiat!

Tighten the bolt up mate, did it to me once spent ages trying to work it out.

2 min quick fix
