can any one help with the speed display ?

Featured Replies

I am the proud ( very very proud !) of my new Brilliant Silver YEti , obtained through a broker in less than 3 weeks at £ 3000 below list price !!!

I have read and digested the handbook and twiddled various knobs !

I cannot get the multi dot central speed display into miles /hour .It displays km/hour ( I now know that 49 is about 30 MPH) I have selected english miles in the unit list , and it says in the handbook will display the same reading as the speedometer . I do not know how to do this . Can anyone help ? Thankyou :)

I didn't think it could display mph but I'd love to be proved wrong on this. :-)

It has been stated in earlier posts that the digital speed read-out always shows Km/h in the UK. This is because cars have to indicate speed in both MPH & Km/h (so they can drive safely in Europe) and the new VAG speedometer design only show MPH. So the digital read-out has been fixed as Km/h.

Presumably European Yetis always show MPH in the digital read-out to go with their Km/h speedometers?

Nope. The legislation does not work that way around! They can set theirs (as per the handbook instructions) to either kmh or mph. :S

Here n Ireland our odometer is in KPH but we can choose either KPH or MPH to display on the maxidot

My display can show either km/hr or mph. It will also show km/l, l/100 km, mpg Imperial or mpg US.

Im guessing then that its going to be somehow configurable with VCDS if other markets are set up for different reading?
