Comfort Indicator - What is it?

Featured Replies

On the Maxidot there is an option in the Lights & Vision section marked Comfort Indicator. You can have this on or off. Does anyone know what it does? I have looked in the handbook and can not see anything and I have ticked and unticked it and can not see any obvious change.

Think its the setting that allows for three flashes of the indicator when you just 'touch' the stalk rather than pushing it fully up or down to stay on.

That is indeed what it does. I just searched the entire PDF owner's manual and it is very peculiar that this function does not get a mention at all! No wonder someone on here thought his car had a problem when it did this!

I just turned everything on

What a strange description to give it. I would never have linked the phrase Comfort with my indicator lights.

Thanks for clearing that up.

I have this on mine & its handy on the motorways etc when you are changing lanes. :)

my S model has this function too..no maxidot here ;) ...i tend to use this alot as i did in my focus

All VAG group cars have this as standard these days. Hence perhaps it does not even get mentioned in the manual. It is like mentioning in there that your car is equipped with "round wheels". emoticon-0140-rofl.gif Goes without saying in the VAG group that you will have comfort indicators!

Fair comment, but the handbook does frequently go into totally unnercessary detail on other things; do we really need to know that you have to push the button to open the glove box, for example, or that to access the power socket in the boot, you need to lift the flap? There's far too much "padding" and poor translation in the handbook to the extent that things you really need to know let lost - hence the number of "how do you" enquiries on the forum! Rant over!!!

Mikey take a look in your maxidot, it should be there. Had it already on my modellyear 2007 VRS.

I did not know it did this and was running down the M62 trying to cancel the indicators but instead just flashing the other way for some distance, must have confused everyone around me. Every time I tried to turn the indicator off after 2 or 3 blinks which I didn't want, it then started blinking in the other direction!

is it not set up as standard then ? I thought most cars did this anyway now, even my fiesta does ?

Yes, mine came setup from the factory to do this.
