al try and get photos on soon as possible to show were it is lol

Do you mean the metal water pipe which connects the water pump to the radiator?

Either way, if it's a water pipe, taping it up won't work, it'll need replacing...

yeah i think it is that 1 do you no were i can get 1 of them and how hard is it to put on?

If it's the metal one, then Jorily - www.jorily.com is probably your best bet:

£12.

(dunno if yours is an MPi, so don';t order it without checking).

Fitting: Not hard. Drain the coolant (possibly by removing the pipe!), and then remove the pipe - there are a few hoses with jubilee clips to undo and maybe 1 bolt holding it to the sump. Then replace, doing the jubilee clips up. Refill the engine with coolant (water and the right kind of antifreeze) - I usually remove the temp sender to avoid getting an airlock when filling up, and replace it when the water appears. Run the car for 10 minutes and then let it cool and re-check the coolant level, top up as necessary. Done. Should take about 30 minutes if you're quick, maybe 1-2 hours if you've not done anything like this before?

thanks dude all i no wot myn is is a lxi lol and most likely a day or 2 for me haha no idia on cars haha :p

Have a look under the bonnet, if it's an MPi then the black air inlet cover on the engine will say MPi on it.

Take your time, better to do it yourself right than pay someone else, I reckon.
