Engine Mount gone?

Featured Replies

Hi Guys

I recently had to change my battery and noticed that at idle my engine seems to vibrate quite a lot. It also seems to be able to vibrate the gear stick if I park on a slight gradient too. I can definitely feel it though the cabin and also it seems to vibrate something behind the glove box at just below 2k revs.

I know having a vibrating gear stick would be a desirable feature for a lady of the night but its really starting to hack me off.

I understand from my searches on here that the dog bong engine mount could be at fault and it looks easy to change if it is that.

Any advice?

Cheers

Karl

Could well be the dog-done mount that's worn.

When changing mine last year I was amazed at how much movement there was in the engine/transmisson before fitting a new one. Pretty straight forward job.

there's two mounts that could cause this. One which is underneath the battery tray and the other(dogbone) which is located under the plastic undertray below the engine. If you can access the mount under the battery then you could try lubing this up with ptfe grease. Skoda released a bulletin about this problem.
