On ny octavia the window switches on the drivers side have become scratched the rubber type coating is coming off showing the white plastic underneath. Now the octavia ones seem hard to come by second hand but mk5 golf ones (elec Windows all round ) are easy to source, but are they the same as they look very similar.

I beleive they are the same, except the illumination is red rather than green....

Ahh, that's a bit of a pain, I'll keep hunting for some Skoda ones then, cheers

I'd be interested to hear how you get on, I have the same problem on my Octavia although I've front electric windows only.

I would also be interested in how you get on, my 2007 (Jan) Octavia Classic 1.9tdi Estate (30k miles) also only has 2 front electric windows,I bought this car used Dec'07 with the black rubber finish lifted off both switches - the car was just under warranty but I was stupid I did not get it fixed.

It now annoys me to see the black finish missing (my wifes Honda Jazz electric switches are as new and it is a 2004 car with 35k miles, my mothers Hyundai Getz 2004 40k miles & switches as new!

Is there a quality problem with Skoda drivers side window switches???

I would also like to know how to remove the door card (trim) do you know how?

BTW, they occasionally appear on fleabay!

I'll let you know when I get a new set. The problem is the switched are made in white (vw and audi same issues) and then coated in a colour to suit the interior, cost cutting methods on VAG's part.
