F1 2010

Featured Replies

So anyone on here started playing on it? Got it on the PC. Got my wheel setup, set the legandary with all aids off, need to learn the tracks as I've not played an F1 game for years (gp2 :) ). I did buy GP3&4 but never really played them, both of which were just updates to GP2 anyway.

I got it a few days ago..

I like playing them with no aids, traction control etc but haven't got a wheel.

Found myself pootling round at the back of a race because it's so easy to spin coming out of a corner..

Other people have reported this on some gaming forums with control pads, unfortunately meaning you have to put traction control to medium to give yourself any hope of keeping up without throwing it off the circuit..

Like the game so far though..

Yeah I've read the same about the traction control. Can't say I have the issue with the wheel.

I want, but saving it for Dead Rising 2 and GT5......... :smirk:

I have my G25 set up perfectly and bought a eyetoy ready for GT5................. (not sad)

Apparently when you have it in driver view mode it recognises your face and depending on where you tilt your head the screen tilts with you i.e. tilt left to check rear view mirror or LH wing mirror :D

Lmao. Cool.

I use the original GT3 900deg GT wheel. Works great on the pc.

Is that the porsche 911 wheel? Lol expensive.. I feel better buying the G25 :D

Got this game for the xbox last weekend. Love it! Favorite track so far is Monza, least favorite is Singapore or Spa in the wet! Best way to avoid spinning out whilst going round a bend is to only keep it on partial throttle and not full, or if you hit the rumble strip / red + white curb make sure you release the throttle until you come out of the bend and into the straight again - this caught me out loads of times on the Silverstone track. Dunny do it no more though!

Sorry its the Logitech driving force pro that was designed for GT4.

G25 looks cool :) But dont think the clutch pedal would be used much.

Doh! Im still v sad then..! haha.. Clutch is worth every penny though! Heel-toe and LFB works perfectly..! :D I have had endless hours on GT5 Prologue and Ferrari Challenge.

Just got this game for PS3 yesterday. Very impressed so far. I am no hardcore gamer so may have to leave some of the driver aids on until i get to grips with it. lol

Has anyone played online yet?

I got it on Launch day for the PS3 and think it's fooooking ace.

Im not doing too bad so far. Managed to qualify on Pole once, won twice and always finish in the top 10. Not bad considering im with Virgin. Currently 3rd in drivers standings. Done 5 races so far. Im do full race weekends (So 3 practice sessions and qualifying) and 40% race distance.

Only been given one upgrade package so far and Di Grassi has had about 4 :(

Im yet to complete a race in cockpit mode though. I can manage about 3-4 laps but then when one of the top 5 come sailing past i need to go back to chase cam view to catch them again.

You don't use cockpit view

I do but not for very long. Im progressively getting longer in the cockpit. :)

Want to try and buy this at the weekend, but its sold out everywhere.

how about a briskoda grand prix online????

I bought a G25 a year or two ago, hardly used it, only because you really need a proper set up.

Thought about arranging a group buy for a rino seat. Anyone interested?

Im personally looking for something which is fold-able, inexpensive and something which have the pedals mounted 'upside down'..

If Rino (or any other you can find) can accommodate that then im very up for buying one :)

I've made myself one from a tool bench.. looks bodge but once you get in it, its not too bad..! 'racing position' angles are a bit out but not far off (either straighter arms, and good leg position or good arms position or slightly bent knees).

Others used car seats then built around them, I don't have that luxury of space unfortunately...

The rino seat does fold up and doesn't take up too much space. It's a few minutes' worth of work, so not a "pull the catch and it folds" thing, but ideal for storage.

It's around twice the price of the wheelstandpro though, but you get the FF through the seat which can only add an awful lot to the experience :)

When I spoke to them last (April 08), we could get 5-6% discount going through a bulk order (5% for two seats, 6% for three seats, presumably more discount if more people buy in). That would be with everything delivered to one address so we'd have to then meet up / repost.

To be honest, once you've added another £10 to repost, it would probably wipe out the savings made on the group buy unless I were to renegotiate.

For three seats shipped to a UK address, came out at €671 total, i.e. €223 per seat or around £195. Not the cheapest, but the dog's danglies B)

edit: http://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=104197 for a heated debate :p Looks like Renato ended up being banned as a result

I've got this for the X-Box and use my Fanatec Porsche Wheel & Clubsport Pedals ;)

Not spent too much time on it yet but, even though it does need the impending patch, I've found it to be a great blend of sim and arcade racing

If you're talking about X-Box I'd be in for this

Saveup and buy a Game Racer Seat, very sturdy and heavy using genuine Corbeau seats so is very comfortable , also pedals are presented at correct angle so you dont get ankle ache . The rino looks as flimsy as the Playseats and will probably snap in half as my playseat did . When your racing you dont realise how much presure you put into the frame work .

If you guys like racing come over to http://teambeer.enjin.com/ , we are a friendly bunch who race the race on series on Sat nights and are looking to start a F1 2010 championship in the near future , we are not all supadoopa fast wizzkids so dont think you will be uncompetitive , our members range from 20 - 75 years old and race for the hell of it
