painting callipers

Featured Replies

I have just had my 312's shot blasted and just after some advice on whats the best way to spray them and how many coats should i put on? Also would it be best to hang them and spray them or just spray on newspaper? I have already got some hammerite smooth red paint.

cheers guys!

hook a metal coathanger thru a carrier hole and hold em up and spray with light coats ...allow 30 mins between coats...then when they are covered giv em one decent coat and hang somewhere warm and allow to dry overnite....mask the rubber seals around the pistons...

I have decided to spray them seperate, in the middle of doing the carriers now, they are looking good! i have removed the seals and pistons from the calipers and masked the wholes up were the pistons go. I have some new seals to put back in them when i have finished spraying them. Cant wait to finally get them on the car! My old ones have well had it! 55,000 miles on original discs and pads!

i just hung mine and painted them with hammerite smooth green

i just put some newspaper behind the caliper and painted with a brush 1 coat done, paint is too thick to leave any brush marks!
