Anybody else read it? Think we need to buy up all the copies,so the secret of how good these cars are, is kept secret, lol

No, but is there an "online" version? Havent got time to get out to a shop today

Interested to hear their thoughts

Just brought the mag not had chance to read it yet. Octavia looks well tho, is it anyone's off of here?

I bought it last night, it does say thanks to Birskoda.com so might be a member from here.

Shame they could not get a more standard looking one for the photos though.

I offered mine but was pipped at the post as I needed a wheel bearing sorting out, I was gutted! :'(

I remember them asking for a standard car a while back. Was a little to far away for me to offer :(

A nice standard one in black (all polished up) would of been nice. The one featured didnt look like much p :) rep work had gone into it for the photos.Im a regular reader of ppc & the featured car is usally well prepared.

I agree! ;)

Personally not very impressed with the article and the photos of the VRS. Poor example of a std motor to show and could of cleaned / polished it up a bit for the shoot

The Guy sounds familier on this site so not having a pop at him just thought PPC would have done a better job.

Plus some of the facts and problems listed against the car are not quite correct.

And i was only reading in the article in the shop... :giggle:

Not read it yet but will have a look before I cast opinion. To be honest the magazine asked for a car on the site but only allowed a week for people to reply for the shoot. I am not sure if there was washing facilities there but it was an hours drive for me to get there. I was led to believe it was someone from the site.

Only just got round to reading this. Not too bad an article got most of the stuff right, agree they could of found a slightly better example, or was it just poor studio lighting, read this mag regularly and the buyers guide usually looks alot better than this.

P.S not a fan of the black light covers

at the risk of sounding boring,....couldn't agree more. some prices quoted (ie £300 for a remap), well

I've got the magazine at home so could scan the pages in at some point.

The write up was fine for someone who isn't an enthusiast I thought, apart from saying that the EGR can cause problems (there is no EGR on the AUQ)! You have to remember that we are the vRS geeks and we've owned these cars for years, so we know more than the average researcher! All in I think the article was pretty complimentary to the vRS.

The car had been cosmetically modified a fair bit, which was a shame (tinted windows, tinted lights, de-badged, rear wiper removed, front bumper inserts painted black, some sticker on the boot and non-standard tailpipe). The engine had also had some work as the N112/N249 plate was missing, and the dipstick tube was covered in electrical tape. It also had an induction kit on it.

They should have got a car that was visually totally standard, but lowered a bit. That would have looked awesome. Oh, like mine...............

It did look like it needed a good polish and wax though, the paintwork just wasn't gleaming like it should do.

Hey Bodge get them scanned in!

PPC could have just read the buyers guide on here which would have given them the correct information, or failing that asked. It always annoys me when they print incorrect information particularly when car clubs such as this one make the time and effort to record a knowledge base. I am sure if they have posted on here for some help anyone would have been happy to provide.

Is the club mentioned?

I havent read it, but it strikes me as a bit pointlesss writing a general buyers guide to a car using a heavily modded car as its reference.

Why did they just not insist on getting a standard one!!?? Its not as if they could only find a tweaked one, there is loads of clean standard ones around

Would like to see the scans too ;)
