Fabia Classic 1.9SDi: Passenger Side: Side Light Bulb

Featured Replies

Hi Guys,

I came to replace the dipped beam bulb on the passenger side, which was a very hard work getting the builb in/out... and found that afterwards the side light bulb had gone.

How on EARTH am I supposed to change that bulb? There is no way of getting it out with the battery compartment almost against it. The only way I can see is by removing the whole headlight.

I removed the top two torx from the bonnet side which significantly lossened the headlight, but there is a funny looking plastic nut thing on the front, which looks like it might be alignment? Is this the one I need to remove to get the headlight out?

Thanks, in advance...

Phil.

It needs hands like a small childs, but who also has the strength to pull out the bulb from its socket. :( I seem to remember forcing my hand in to do that job on mine, and getting a few scrapes on the way. :o

I took the front battery cover off and that gave me enough room to reach down. Bulb was pretty stiff though and I managed to graze my knuckles getting it out, but I don't seem to be alone in that! Just be glad you don't have xenons ;)

Looks like I'm just going to have to graze my knuckles then.

Thanks.

Phil.
