Possible DS2500 pads for fabia

Featured Replies

Thing is itheir about

Worth the price if your suffer from brake fade or planning on trackdays.

I want I want, especially after my car is getting remapped, could do with some super dot 4 or dot 5 fluid too, any links would be useful - the highest possible temperature.

dot 5.1 i assume you mean ?

there isnt any point in it over super dot 4 imho anyway

Just to clarify, are we talking about DS2500 on fabia vrs oem disks / calipers (288mm discs)?

Thank you ;)

Well, I run them very nicely on my pansy tiny little 256mm discs and crappy "all in one" brake/hub setup. I do believe the same goes for 288s, and *other* brake sizes. ;)

Do EBC make anything for the Fabia??

My Wife has a trade account with EBC if anyone wants anything. She also has a trade account with Forge too if that'd help anyone out.

So where do we get them?

The company is AS Performance in Newcastle on 0191 4103770, found them the other day through a friend of a friend.

I also thought DS2500 where for the Octy carriers but they can get them for the Fabia now or so they tell me.

I have a set of custom pads on mine at the moment using DS2500 material.

A friends wife is a director of a company that produces brake parts for buses and the like so they have done some for me to try.

We may be able to get a group buy going on a few different typres of pads.

Ivan, Alyn comes on here sometimes (posts as Stockcar IIRC). He's the guy who runs AS Performance. Nice guy and very helpful

Seconded :)

Got my DS2500's from Alyn as part of a group buy last year. Had a bit of a nightmare due to supply problems from the factory, but he kept on at them and got them in time for Brunters :D

How long do the pads last? I'd expect pads that cost so much to last a long time... also is it neccesary to change the fluid too?

Depends how hard you use them. ;) I don't remember them having a shorter life than OEM pads but they will probably last as long, even if used harder. Not necessary to change the fluid, but well worth doing at some point :D

Chris

Still plenty on mine after something like 14K miles and 2.5 Trackdays (The .5 being Trax  )

Judging from the current wear i'd expect in the region of 30-40K out of a set with my current level of use :)

As for fluid, i'm running standard but will probably upgrade at the next service.

Thats not bad actually, how long do the OEM pads last if driven hard, just to compare - I'm gonna need some replacement pads soon methinks ;)

No idea about standard pads, mine came off at around 8500 miles and were donated to the "Panrix is too tight to buy new pads" appeal :)
