Help!

I am hoping somebody can shed a little light on a problem I am having. My 02 Fabia 1.9tdi has developed what sounds like an exhaust blowing noise yet on inspection I am unable to find any holes or feel any air escaping. The noise is only noticeable when the car is moving and seems to get quiter when the steering wheel is turned to the right (coincidence maybe). My temperature gauge also stopped working shortly after the noise started.

Any suggestions would be gratefully received.

Thanks,

Phil

Temperature sender, and either a CV joint or wheel bearing.

After further investigation I have found that the front nearside bearing has gone. I bought the new hub and bearing complete from Partco and was wondering if somebody could tell me if this is a DIY job or best to leave to the garage?

I have read the Haynes manual and see that you ideally need a hydraulic press and a specialist tool to refit the assembly. It is necessary to have these?

Any help and suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Phil
