Tyre Pressure Monitor Illuminated

Featured Replies

Whilst driving to work this morning the TPM Illuminated on the dash, stopped had a quick look at the tyres, all seem ok so headed for work, checked tyres again, all ok

after work all seems fine so drives home, TPM once again Illuminated when I started the car, at home checked pressures with pressure gauge, pressures spot on

Reset the TPM light by holding in the "SET" button while starting the car, all seems fine

Any Idea's

If one of the tyres is slightly out it will activate, it works through your abs , it gauges the revolutions . Sometimes only flags up when going high speed. Have you inflated tyres since you got it and not reset button? Cheers Alan. Also did you get dirt under third brake light sorted?

I have altered the tyre pressures slightly since I got the car. "Do you need to reset the TPM every time you adjust the pressures, they were last done over a week ago but the light only came on today

I thought at first it might be connected to all the rain we have had over the weekend

................and No I can't get the trim off

You don't necessarily need to reset it when you change tyre pressures. In fact you don't even need to do so when you change the whole set of wheels !

If any wheel is running slightly faster though it will set off the alarm.

Yes you should always reset it after pressure change, it measures circumference by way off how many revolutions compared to original reset , so the faster you go it is more out

My Leon TPM sometimes flashes at me if I've got something heavy in the boot when cornering (the mother in law)

Am I to assume then that if you have a new tyres and a part worn tyres on the same axle this could also illuminate the TPM light

I have almost new on the Front an new tyres on the rear and the pressures are correct.

Yes, but if you press resett light will be ok
