Glowplug number sequence

Featured Replies

I finished work today and the EML stayed on after starting the car, I find it quite funny and also very strange how it just decides to brake after being sat in the car park for a few hours

So anyways I have scanned it and it came back with glowplug #3 having a faulty circuit, I had #1 relaced a few months back as the exact same thing happened and funnily enough it broke after being sat in the works car park for a few hours too !!!

Does anyone have the number sequence for the plugs ?

Would #1 start on the drivers side or passengers ?

Thanks

Cylinder one is closest to the cambelt so drivers side.

my glowplug thing came up with a scan with vcds. but no eml!!

but im not fixing it, it starts and stops :)

Looking at engine from the front, the order is 1 2 3 4

Just waiting for the end to crack off then and drop into the cylinder.

Thanks for the info Tech1e and moggy :)

I'll just replace the 3 of them and be done !

Weird how the EML comes on instead of the glow plug light flashing

is this a known issue with them ross? i've seen it happen on an old-skool 2.4 transporter engine but fortunately it was an indirect one so the piece that snapped off got lodged in the pre-combustion chamber.. what a pig it was taking it apart too  timing belts at both ends of the engine
