Removal of Roof Bars from Superb Combi

Featured Replies

Hi Everyone,

Looking to place an order for the Superb Combi 170 Elegance for the new year in Magic Black with Ivory Interior and Luxon alloys.

The only issue i have with the Combi Version is the Roof Bars.

They can be ordered in either Stainless or Black Finish. But i still won't require them as all everything i will carry will be in the huge boot. If i order the Rails in black it may help disguise them.

The question is "Can they be removed from the car, and are there blanks available to fill the holes are left in the roof"?

I think they add something aesthetically personally but each to theirs, have you asked Skoda about leaving them off ?

I think you'd need something to plug the six holes used for mounting the bars... :S

You are rhymes with gritting me ain't you, get the chrome ones, come sell time anyone whose anyone won't buy an estate without the bars, are you really serious, free bars and you want to get rid of, the car will look budget without them.

He has a point though. I don`t like them either as they will not be used. They further add to the roadnoise as well becauces they create a slight turbulance when driving. I would not have ordered them either as we have an old Vivaro, long modell with a boot big enough to transpor a mini-cooper in. This should have been optional, but would also have added to the already growing lead and manufacturing times.

So if there`s a possibility to take them off and substitute them with a list of some sorts, I would certainly consider it. :smirk:

A surfboard will sort that out Doc

Cheers for your reponses

Roof Bars only make sense if there are going to be used. I will never be putting anything on the roof as i can get a loan of my brothers Jeep and Trialer.

Really just wondering if any one else had the same thought on the Roof Bars, and can they be removed?

I think that car would lose the slight Hearse look without the Roof bars :giggle:
