Front leakage

Featured Replies

Hi ! I have a 1997 Skoda Felicia 1,3 which has a leakage problem in the front. It keeps coming in on the drivers side (I think), behind the instrument panel. It' especially bad when the car

is parked with the front facing downwards.

It looks like everything is tight around around the window, so the leakage is not there.

Has anybody had a similar problem?

You can test the windscreen seal with a pressure washer, if you have someone inside the car to help you. Otherwise, it might be the heater matrix or the pipes leading to / from it?

it's unlikey to be the heater matrix due to it's position.. i was getting water ingress on mine for a while due to water creeping up the steering column becuase i left off the rubber seal at the base.. it could be coming in from a whole number of places, but windscreens are well known to leak on these as well as the sunroof

I doubt you'd be able to tell if the seal was 100% watertight by looking at it, I think it's worth replacing it. As Tom says the matrix is in the engine bay rather than behind the dash. A nice easy position to replace but very different design to almost every other car out there.
