Induction kit

Featured Replies

Right am I right in thinking that an induction kit will do nothing on my vrs?

it has been asked lots around here but no conclusive answer..... the general census is its not good for the PD130???? dunno why though.

Yeah I looked for a thread to help nothing really came up can anyone help? I would like to have a deeper tone to the engine when I give it wot, I didn't know there was risk of damaging the turbo.

Nonesense

An open cone filter will suck air so is pretty pointless! Its every 17 y/o first mod

Ive been running and enclosed bmc induction kit! Cold air and its been on the car for 40k! No issues

I had a K&N apollo very similar to Jase's. AFAIK it is still on the car but you'll need to ask cd2010 as its his now :)

Gave a deeper sound, and slightly more responsive on the throttle.

It was on until last week, took it off to give it a clean but it really needed a new filter. (Got a new filter element on its way in the post, only £34 from Opie oils)

I agree, without it the car sounds... er very diesely :giggle:

It really does make a nice deep sound & the cold air feed can be attached to the PD130 or PD160 intake trumpet.

As Morg said, throttle response was a bit better too, its going back on ASAP :)

anyone fancy making two video's of the sound of the car with the normal air filter in and then a video of the induction kit on? be interesting to hear as I'm desperate to get rid of the diesel sound in my car lol

I may be able to this weekend.

It just sounds meaner, almost a Subaru noise but not as loud.

Out of curiosity big jase is it just the universal cda youve got on ?

incorrect ! My first mod was Coilovers haha.

In reply to the thread, I have a RamAir cone filter with CAI. Done it purely for the noise, wasn't bothered about no gains or anything. And it looks better in my bay without the big horrible air box and battery in the boot.

Anyone got a good source to get the flex tube from the air intake on the car to the air filter?

People say to avoid the oiled cotton filters as the oil knackers the maf so I went for a s2000 filter that's paper so doesn't need oiling. Absolutely huge too and as tom said looks good in the bay
