That looks nothing like my electric mirror control in my 2001 elegance.... Not even sure it would fit where the current one is.

it does fit in the same whole trust ive seen the how to thread

Yes, it does fit if you replace the door handle as well. What's the point of this mod? My mirror control moves the mirrors which is all I require it to do. Why would I replace it with another that does the same job, but requires a new door handle and wiring work to make it fit? Sorry if I'm being stupid.

It only fits in by replacing the door handle too! I assume it does not handle the heated door mirrors (if fitted)?

I assume you also don't get the octy feature of being able to move both mirrors at the same time?

You can move both mirrors at once??

Yes when left mirror is selected both mirrors move with adjustment knob.

On a mark 1? I've never noticed that? What if I want to move the left mirror but keep the right hand one where it is?

Actually it's the other way around. You can move left independently and when you turn to the right both move. The reason is so that when a shorter or taller person drives the car the adjustment to compensate can be done on both mirrors at the same time. Hard to explain, but easy to live with.
