What does N75 do and what would be symptoms of failure?

As far as I know it controls the Turbo boost, if your car is acting up and going into limp mode it could be the MAF in the air inlet pipe as they are a common problem, you need a scan on the car with VCDS to see if the ECU has any fault codes logged. cheers - Stuart

MAF failure would give the flat spots and surging above 2500 revs which is where i have the problems. I will try unplugging it later. Car is not logging any faults which also points at MAF. Left car at home today and used GF's smooth as silk BMW.

Luckily the MAF's are only £70 for the octy !

I have a brand new, unused N75 valve for a PD170 if you want to buy it off me to try. I bought it for mine from the dealer, but it turned out the problem was my turbo. £35 delivered?
