Octy 1.9 tdi 122 k miles MOT PASS today but with advisory ,Only Advisory was Nearside and Offside front Macpherson Struts have slight movement at the upper attachment . Any advice on this , or is it normal They quoted me £90 each to do . Thanks

You don't need dampers, just the top mountings.

But to be fair it's not really a fault. They will all move as gradually the rubber top mount compresses and movement can only be felt when the weight is off the suspension. When it's on the ground the weight of the car is on them and they don't move.

So fret not
