Skoda Console Bushes

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

I'm looking at the DIY task of replacing all my wishbone bushes in the next couple of weeks. The console bushes are definatly on the way out and i feel confident enough to be able to switch them around myself. But anyway, Cupra console bushes and powerflex front bushes we're my initial choice, but i've heard that Skoda have redesigned their console bushes to be a solid affair instead of the voided bush thats currently wobbling about in my suspension :p Is this true, has Skoda improved their console bushes and is it worth me using these ones or should i stick to the Cupra's?

I've heard rumours about the cupra bushes causing a lot of cabin noise etc, is this still the case?

Cheers all!

Have just replaced console bushes and the new ones are different with no complete voids front to back. How different the new ones are to the Seat version I've no idea. The bush pack from Jorily includes the front bushes and, whilst you're at it the ARB bushes might as well be done as they're very cheap and it seems that letting them wear causes wear on the expensive ARB (these are different sizes; best to just measure diameter of ARB rather than try and work through the car/version/year conundrum.

The job was easier than I expected using a guide from this site - don't follow Haynes except for torque values or you'll end up with a pile of bits to take to the garage. Biggest problem was that I didn't get the car high enough - you do need it up so that there is plenty of spanner room. HTH.

Standard bushes original style - 2 web voided (Softest ride)

Revised standard bushes- 4 web voided, (somewhere in the middle.)

Cupra bushes solid no void. ( stiffer than morning glory )

Powerflex solid bush ( Viagra )

I've just ordered a set of the morning glory option - can't wait!

Morning glory all the way. Not noticed any increase in road noise.

The modified Fabia bushes are actually Octavia II bushes.

Indeed, they are definitely firmer than the twin web original type.

I'm happy with them,
