Featured Replies

Afternoon all,

Just curious to discover which short shifter would fit a 2002 Octavia 1.8T 5 speed, I had one on the golf and am starting to miss it a bit! Also anyone know of a how to?

TIA

Neuspeed on mine.

great username - WASP ? met the band once at a signing ...

tt one works, as does neuspeed, diesel geek, ebay b&m copy, forge and comp brake to name a few

cheapest for the 4x4 is the tt/vrs paddle upgrade, bout £30ish from dealer,

ebay b&m copy is good, i have it on mine, its cheap at around £30 but unless you fit yourself like i did it will cost a bit to get fitted as its more involved.

compbrake around £50ish, forge around £90ish diesel geek around £100ish

neuspeed more i think.

Imo go for the compbrake one if you are looking for a good upgrade with cost in mind, if you dont want to spend a lot at all go for the £30 oe tt paddle.

Haha, I've been waiting for someone to make the connection, also the name suited my car and my former self before I stated my IAM Skills For Life!

Yeah, been a fan of WASP for Donkey's I saw them live at the Lyceum way back when! Randy Piper was a real star, happy days!

I am very interested in the £30 TT paddle, is there a part No for the 5sp Octavia 1.8T

I swore I'd never spend on this one as I spent around £20K on my Golf, those days are over!

have a search on the site, or on the threads posted above, think its on there.

if not search on mk4.net for tt quickshift/shortshift

I just had a gander through the numerous threads both elsewhere and on here, am I to take it that some of the short shifts are what's already on there? I'll keep an eye on the serial No's.

yes some cars, vrs models particularly, have these, 4x4s do not.

my vrs weirdly did not have one fitted, but you should be good with a 4x4

Partnumber for TT shifter is 8N0 711 051A

Sorry, that partnumber has been superseded with 8N0 711 046 which includes the above shifter plus the selector cable catches.

Hi, just having a gander but am finding this so far, for instance with the Forge and all of the shortshifters on Awesome for the Skoda MK1 : Its coming up as a six speed and mines a five, therefore, will it fit? :wonder:

Forge 6-speed Short Shifter Kit for VW / Audi 6-speed

VW MK4 Jetta GLI

VW MK4 Golf GTI (337, 20th Anniversary, 24V VR6)

VW New Beetle "Turbo S"

Audi MK1 TT and Mk2

VW MK5 Jetta GLI

VW MK5 Golf GTI

Audi A3 / S3 1.8T, 2.0FSiT, 2.0 Diesel

VW Passat (B6) 2.0FSiT, 2.0 Diesel

VW Eos 2.0FSiT, 2.0 Diesel

Skoda Octavia MK1 1.8T and MK2 (up to 2006)

SEAT Leon / Altea MK1 1.8T amd MK2 2.0FSiT, 2.0 Diesel

6 speed wont fit,

forge do a 5 speed, as do compbrake iirc which is cheaper
