National Tyres oil change service

Featured Replies

I saw a comment on another thread about National Tyres doing an oil change for £30.

I went online, stuck in my reg and yes, £31ish for oil change including £6 for engine flush. Surely this can't include the service as well as the oil can it?

Too good to be true? Anyone ever used this service?

Just checked for my 1.9 tdi 130 bhp , and yes its £31 for full syn and to 507 spec , booking it in next week .t

They keep the cost down by using the cheapest oil filters available, usually unbranded ones.

Workmanship can be a bit questionable at times, do you want your sump plug cross threaded for the cost of a cheapish oil change.

Does that mean they're no good though?

I used to use the Brid branch for my Mk1 Octavia vrs. They are quite good and the guys seem to know what they are doing. I also tried the York branch and wouldn't go back, they over filled with oil

Very good price and good oil. At the Brid branch they used a unipart filter.

when i put my details in i get £41

I can get oil 505.01 spec and a non-skoda oil filter for about £30, with no flushing oil added to bill, (which Skoda charge £10.00),

plus, I got to do it myself.

Seems a bargain on the face of it.emoticon-0148-yes.gif

I phoned up to book mine in for an oil change. I was asked if there was a plastic tray under the engine. I said yes. "well unless there's an oil change flap in it, we'll charge another £11 for removing/refitting the tray."

Is there a flap on the mk1? Or does the whole thing have to come off?

Bugger that then, might see if I can get them to just let me have the oil + filter and I'll do it myself!

my plastic cover decided it did'nt want to be on the car the other day whilst i was driving down the road lol, saves me £11 tho

Kwik fit used to advertise same at "from" £25 while back .And as i used to take our van fleet in regularly ,asked about it .I got it done at that as a special customer ,but what bothered me was the lack of initial knowledge to change ALL sealing washers on the TDI filter .So a twenty minute job turned into a two hour one .

The NT depot I use in Halifax are the best I have ever used.....
