squeak when steering at a particular angle

Featured Replies

At my sons and he has our 'old' vrs.

When turning right there is a squeak when turning by a certain angle. It is not road dependent i.e. bumps etc make no difference and the squeak disappears when turned beyond this angle. H e went to a local garage (not Skoda) and they looked at the brakes and suspension etc but eventually said, 'these kind of cars sometimes get this,.

BIt dubious as if something is squeaking then something may be wearing out or not greased etc.

Any comments welcome.

I had exactly the same issue during light turning, and even though i wasn't braking, it turned out to be rusty brake discs. Had new discs and pads fitted and not heard a single squeak since.

thanks.

Interesting, though he had his cleaned up about 6 months ago. Perhaps they have rusted again though I would have thought that with use the squeak would lessen.
