Adding VRS rear spoiler - good or "mid life crisis"?

Anyone got any experience of if this is likely to push insurance up? I guess it depends on the individual insurer?

To be honest I feel a VRS spoiler on a L&K hatch is not the best look. The estate spoiler would be a different matter but never liked the look of a non VRS Octy with a VRS spoiler. This is a personal thing and if you like the look then you should go ahead and do it. It is your car so what ever makes you happy. You would have to tell your insurance and it could push the premium up but I suspect it is not going to be by much.

I disa gree , had mine fitted at purchase , because the rear end looks to bland , the spoiler does not restrict rear view , and does make it look smarter , it actualy looks as if there should be one on all mk1 Octys , VRS or Not .

You could be right! I'm getting cold feet to be honest! I will have to see how much the insurance want extra!

Johnmb, could you stick a picture up to see what it looks like please? I wonder how much difference the vRS wheels make to the overall look compared to the L&K?

Here is a pic I found of an Elegance with a vRS spoiler;

I have a black L&K hatch (albeit a 110 ASV) with a vrs spoiler and 17" spiders. Definitely worth it from my point of view, it was too plain without it. Will get up a pic soon if you like! emoticon-0148-yes.gif

Did you buy the spoiler yet? If not;

yeah, I saw that item earlier, but £70 is a lot for an unpainted item (to me). I've found a black one on a breaking VRS which is a bit less, just waiting to see if I can sell a couple of items first in order to buy it.....emoticon-0106-crying.gif

I let one slip on here last week and now kicking myself for it! :doh:
