Removing rear door panel

Featured Replies

Hi,

I am trying to remove the rear passenger door panel to a fabia 1.4.

I have removed the interior door pull handle top covers, and then unscrewed 2 bolts. After this I am stuck what to do next.

The reason for wanted to remove the door panel is that the door will not open. The door latch is stuck, and will only come up when you use the interior door handle to try and open the door, but then goes back down again when released.

Many thanks in advance.

Use the search to find topics on door carrier repairs. Things such as leaky doors, damp smell, wet footwell should come up with some results in the search.

From what I remember, you remove the window winder, the speaker (tweeter), and the arm rest.

Sorry I can't be more help right now, just woke up...!

There's a small and easy to drop torx screw behind the tweeter that also needs to come out before

attempting removal, and the window winder needs to come off.

Put the winder in the six oclock position and pop the retaining ring upward toward the 12 oclock

position the handle will just come away in your hand. No tools needed to take winder off.

You wont be able to see much when you have the door trim off however as the ancilleries carrier needs to be removed to get into the latch.

Sounds very much like the dead lock is stuck on so will require a new latch and the old one breaking up.
