also just noticed my switch is broken so lights only work when doors are opened anyone know weather this can be fixed ive come across a small spring along the way hoping this has just come off

any help really greatful as im getting abit fed up now

From memory:

On the light - there's two screws as you say.

Then there's two little tab like things in the side comparments where the bulbs for the map lights are. You need to get a screwdriver or something in there and lever them away from the car, towards the centre of the light.

Then it should just pull out.

I think that's right, but you're looking for two things along those lines anyway.

As for the switch - mine broke two (well, I pulled it off by mistake!B)). The sliding bit seperated from the metal contacts on the back, and lost the tension needed to hold it in place, so I fixed it using some folded plastic in the end.

That's the back of the sliding bit.

Can also just make out what I believe to be the tab things in this picture. Just to the right of the word 'to'. Should be one on both sides of the unit.

Made those up for someone else once - they might help you.

thanks for that mate. the switch cant be saved piece of metal broke off the circuit which puts the light on when u open the door. everything else works fine

so my next question has anyone got a complete interior light hanging around?????

im going to ring dealers and ask how much one is aswell

I'd try a scrappy first (you can do online email enquiries, which is how I got a new heater control panel for my wife's car) and if nothing comes up, see if there's a branch of TPS near you who might service you as a private customer if you ask nicely...
