Bolero - can it really handle 32GB cards?

Featured Replies

It can handle a 32gb card, but it can only handle about 1000 files in total.

  • So, here's an interesting development to my 32GB SD card problem. As I've posted elsewhere on this forum, I was experiencing an occasional weird sound distortion problem where - completely randomly -

I should expand a little on that last statement, newer Boleros have the 1000 file limit. Earlier Boleros will handle 32gb and more than 1000 files if the firmware is updated. The manufacturer changed around 2010 hence the differences.

I have 2 x 16Gb, as 32Gb was way expensive.

£17.99 for a 32 GB class 10 Samsung one from either amazon or play when I ordered (admittedly reduced from £55 but you just need to shop around).

Hello Jon

Which head unit do you have?

How do I find that out? All I know is its the latest one (the car is only a few weeks old bought brand new). I spoke to the sales team today in fact who not suprisingly didnt know much about it but are going to get back to me over whether there is definitely a file number limit. I was told that if I listened to classical music the tracks may be longer and I could theoretically use the capacity of the card!!!!!! (as there would be less songs but use more data) Shame I dont listen to classical much!! I am also apparanty the only person hes heard of that uses the SD card slot!

The card I bought was this one: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B003VNKNF0/ref=oh_details_o01_s00_i00

its a class 10 32gb Transcend SD- a reliable brand and only cost £15.50. Looks like I'll have to either buy another one of these cards to listen to the 'O-Z' artists or just pay out for the MDI cable for my Ipod- I notice they are available on ebay fairly cheaply.

Have to take the unit out and it's on a sticker on the back or top. Probably Blaupunkt if it's that knew.
