going to service the wife's fabia, but how do i clear the inpsection indicator once done ?

You need to press-and-hold the "trip reset" (the round twiddly-thing that you use to set the clock's time), for around 10s. The trip readout (under the odometer) will change to "---", then the service indicator will go away and the trip reading will be restored.

I think it's an ignition-off job, too (although my memory could be playing tricks on me with that one )...

It does tell you in the handbook.

I had to do this recently. You hold it in, turn ignition on, hold for 10 seconds - - - appears, then turn off ignition, and it should be sorted. Not 100% sure if they are the correct instructions, so just read the post to check

You are totally correct Bezzy, adding will also work for 'OIL' warning message.
