Puppy locked me out!

Featured Replies

hopped out the car for 2 seconds to grab something out the boot, closed the door behind me to stop the puppy jumping out, so she jumped on the door lock and stopped me getting back in :(

i swear she planned it, little bugger even waited until the very second i closed the boot :(

anyway after saying a few bad words, making up some new ones and wondering around the car aimlessly pulling handles and poking at locks i inevitably had to put a window in. (in a busy petrol station, got some iffy looks!)

Has anyone replaced a rear quarterlight on a mk2 Felicia? Is it a relatively simple job that can be done without special tools etc. or would I be better off going to a garage? Having a hard time finding any useful info.

Also any reccomendations where to get the glass could be useful. Planning on touring the local scrapyards shortly but rarely find any felicia's, and im yet to see one in half-decent nick. (scrapyard, duh?.. you know what i mean) :)

cheers guys

Ouch, that's unfortunate! I've not done the Felicia but I was forever refitting the front quarterlights on my Estelle as they would slip down and leave a cold, wet gap - judging by the Haynes description the procedure's pretty much identical, and it's only a screwdriver job :thumbup:. The pane is held in by the guide channel - wind the window down, take the door panel off, pull the seal out of the top of the window opening, then it's one screw at the bottom and one at the top, and just pull the guide channel and glass out.

All Felicias of all ages use the same glass, although there are two varieties - clear and green tinted.

I recall seeing Butts were offloading various Felicia glass on eBay a few weeks back - may be worth checking with them. Failing that there's always people advertising cars they're breaking on there too. Shouldn't be too hard to find one nearby if the scrappers or other sources have nothing to offer.

cheers, will definately be doing myself as autoglass just quoted me £160

Fairly straightforward, there's a 10mm-head bolt at the bottom of the rail which if you loosen it will make it easier to get the glass out.

I have a quarter light here if you get stuck... all goes to a good cause (funding Rally GB entry in my Felicia!)

so she jumped on the door lock and stopped me getting back in :(

:giggle::rofl:

gutted.. that's happened to me before too

Yep - know the feeling - my little terror has a habit of going berserk every time he sees a Staffie / or anything he thinks is a threat walking down the pavement . ( And if he sees a cat - it's ear protection time ) .Of course the door buttons are target no 1 - always wondered how so little a paw could find the button every time . It's now automatic - open door , grab keys before shutting door ,even though mines a Classic( oh ,I know ,wrong forum ,but dogs can't be expected to respect models) with no central (yet) .
