Its about time for some mods...

PD160 ordered. Would it be beneficial to get an after market panel filter or just replace the standard one?

Also spotted this on AmD Essex

AmD Essex – Milltek Exhaust and Remap MEGA Offer

Skoda Fabia VRS PD130

Cat Back System and AmD Performance Remap £527.77 saving £199.88

Full System and AmD Performance Remap from £602.89 saving £299.95.

Worth the money? By the looks of it on their website they only offer a generic REVO map. Which seems pointless if you get an exhaust system?!

Cheers Ladies and Gentlemen

Yes does seem a little daft to have an exhaust system and then get a generic remap. Also, not sure if you would get a de-cat with that offer but believe the general consensus is that a de-cat in conjunction with a map that is NOT tailored for a de-catted is sytem is where turbo trouble is more likely to occur...

Cheers pal, will have a careful think then

I am quite surprised amd Essex would do that. As it would be making the car run worse. But again they probably have a map done already for the mods done.

I dont think a generic map and a decat is the problem bud. The main problems occur if u get a remap before having a decat, and dont have the map updated to allow for the change

Please Re think that statement.

AMD Essex are an official REVO dealer..... AMD do also supply AMD maps.

Is that not the same thing though..? A generic remap in conjunction with a de-cat causes the problems regardless of which modification was done first.

In response to the OP's question - it might be worth enquiring about how much more a custom map would cost if they were particularly interested in an exhaust / map combination. Might be money well spent in order to guarantee optimum running etc.

Not quite right... Generic makes you think of one-size-fits-all. However, there is an element of tweaking that can be done from a known base to take account of specific differences. A decat would probably require less boost (hence fuelling) at certain points in the map(s). Once you change turbos, exhaust manifolds, massive intercoolers, you move so far away from the standard setup that a custom remap and RR time is required to get the best fromt he specific set of mods.

Very much agree with some of the points thouogh. A remap followed by a decat without getting the map tweaked is asking for trouble.

Very True Vindaloom wether this would be included in the "Generic Price" they are offering would be a different story though. Assumption would say the maps offered would be generic but take into account the exhaust they offer within the sale, but we all know where assumption gets us. Best to just phone and ask id say.

Cheers, Elliott
