Boot and Tail gate opening

Featured Replies

After i picked up my Superb saloon I had it for two days and had problems opening the tailgate. The boot would open fine but when i tried to do the whole hatch-back theing it would not work. I took the car back and they re-set the computer saying it was a softwear error. I got home tried the boot twice and it worked. On the third go it failed. I went back to Skoda in Coventry and they told me that there was a problem with the opening system and had to wait for the part to be sent from the factory.Since it was fitted i have not had anymore problems with the tailgate but just goiving you guy's the heads up incase you have the same problem.

One year in and no problems here.

Glad you got yours fixed.

Just over 2 years old here and no hatch/boot opening problems to report.

In February I had two problems with the 'big' boot lid.

1) The buttons on the bottom of the door misbehaved.

2) On closing the big door, the motor on the left almost managed to pull the lid right down, made a clunking noise, then the lid popped up a few millimeters as though half open.

A day at the Skoda dealer and they fixed them.

Last week I was back again at Skoda with problem 2.

Two days at the same dealer and they fixed problem 1.

Have to take it back this week so they can try again with problem 2.

This is in Madrid.

Two years no problems, allthough the vehicle was called in to have modification to boot lock, this should have been a spot of weld on one of the pins, dealer said they had replaced the whole lock.

  • 1 year later...

Exactly the same problem on my 60 plate SE. Boot opens 100% of the time. Hatch would open maybe 50% of the time till last week when it failed to open at all. Was in dealers yesterday... "fixed"... but same problem again today! Anyone know of a part failure or specific known fault to give the dealer the heads up?
