most of them say does not work with can-bus and im on the understanding that the fabia vrs is can-bus???

Most work fine, but some don't, its a bit pot luck what you get. When it mentions canbus, it means totally canbus so thats the current Octavia and Superb for example. The reason they dont work with newer cars is simple, they require a very old unsupported version of the software to work. Plus if you have a new Fabia then some functions may not be available because of ECU updates which are unsupported in the very old software. Typically these leads nead V4 if VAG-COM, whereas VCDS(new name for VAG-COM) is currently at V10.
