fabia vrs rear mudflaps

Featured Replies

Hy,

yesterday i was at the skoda dealer. I wanted to buy rear mudflaps, but they said that mudflaps for fabia VRS doesnt exsists. Is that true? But i see a lot of fabias VRS here on forum with mudflaps.

They don't do vRS specific ones, you just have to trim a little of the rear bumper to get them to fit.

If you search the forums apparently some other mudflaps are a direct fit.

Ahh ok, news to me but nice one.

I'm sure I read that rear flaps from a Mk4 Golf fit, or they fit better than Skoda ones.

If this is True i may be off to get some :giggle:

I had a set of 4 flaps on my Bora and they helped a lot

in regard to keeping it clean.

I'd love a set for my Fabia.

I'm always washing that... :(

non are direct fit...bumper needs 4-5mm trimmed off..

I fitted rear mudflaps in the hope of reduced the "crud encrusted rear" of my VRS... Didn't do a damned thing! Well, maybe they stopped the odd stone from catching the raer bumper but that's all. OTOH, the fronts have kept the doors and like free of mud and stones for the past 4 years very successfully.

In terms of the looks of the car (as opposed to functionally), 4 mudflaps look better than 2.

The std Fabia ones go straight on the VRS bumper with a very small section of the bumper trimmed!

Could someone provide an image of what is being 'trimmed'?

If you look into the rear wheel arch where the mud flap fits you will notice that the rear bumper has a flat bit on the edge and if and if you look where the join is ( where the 2 sections join it's thin) cut off the flat bit with a sharp knife so it's thin like the other bit is and the flaps will fit

If you offer up a flap to the bumper you will see what I mean

All the holes line up and you will get a flat washer and screw provided with the mud flap kit for the hole under the rear skirt

Does all that make sense??

Ohh the Lip that tucks into the wheel arch that gets in the way when trying to remove the arch liner, thats not that bad. noticable if removed?

It all gets covered up be the mud flap, you will see nothing where you've been trimming. Honest!!

Use the arch liners screws to hold on the flap, perfect alignment and you get 2 flat spring washers and 2 screws with the kit.
