Picked up my vRS yesterday

Featured Replies

After selling my Civic Type-R the other week I've been on the look out for a mint vRS and came across this:

- 06 reg

- 47k miles

- Full Leathers

- Xenon's

- Parking sensors

- Cruise control

Really enjoying it at the moment, only thing I plan on doing is lowering it (any recommendations?) just to stiffen it up a little as I don't think the handling matches the performance.

Weitec coilovers i think are about the best.

Also get yourself an LCR Splitter!!!!

Welcome to the forum and vRS ownership.

Mine came with parking sensors too - surprising how you get used to them despite the car not really needing them - they seem pretty accurate too. Test them by opening the boot lid, putting the car in reverse gear with ignition on, then walk around the back....

The ones in the loan Yeti I had were better though - full display on the radio...

Nice, I just sold my type are destroying Clio 182 not standard obviously lol - bought a black vrs tdi and liking it, not as much as the 182 but think it'll grow on me and save me a fortune

Anyone got a picture with the Leon splitter on?

Chris - I thought I recognised your user name, did you put a thread up on Cliosport.net recently about buying the vRS?

Edited by Dave100

Yep sure did dave and of course they all slagged off the vrs saying nothing on earth is faster than a Clio sport lol.

How much was your fabia it looks nice I wanted silver but got black.

Nice example you've got there.

Regarding lowering it it really depends how much you want to spend. I, along with a lot of others on here have Eibachs and love them.

I have them on with the OE dampers and find that handling and looks have been improved, can't recommend them highly enough.

You plan for maybe only lowering at the moment will change the longer you stay on this forum my friend, it's a slippery slope

Pictures don't do it justice but just about everyone on her with a fabia have one.

It was one of my first mods did it within a week of me having the car aswell as some new sidelights.

Where is the best/cheapest place to get a splitter?

If you really wanna improve the handling you need a Rear anti roll bar, They're not that expensive and are generally renowned on here for being the single best handling mod you can do. :)

im thinking about going the opposite way you have gone, fabia vrs to type r, why did u get rid?

My daily commute was around 44 miles and getting around 250-260 to a tank wasn't feasible any more. It was a fantastic car and I would own one again. I would definitely recommend one, by far the best engine/gearbox I've ever used. If you were to get a Type-R it would take some getting used to as at the moment you have all that torque whereas the civic doesn't so you really need to rev the nuts of it to get it going.

Prob the same reason I got rid of my 182, running costs but in my case I grew out of the hot hatch

I got my splitter from TPS the other day £23 inc VAT

So that's an ARB and LCR Splitter to add to my mod list lol.

Also I've noticed a bit of a knocking noise at low speeds (under 20mph) when going over bumps. Is this a common fault, what is it most likely to be?

  • 2 weeks later...

that'll be the front console bush's at a guess. common fault. either upgrade to seat cupra ones. or power flex do some. check there site or awesome-gti for both.

When you say console bush, which one do you mean? I've looked on the powerflex wesbite but there is no mention of a console bush.

Some refer to it as the console bush, some call it a wishbone bush.

Like This...

i got my RARB fitted last week along with the seat strut brace and WOW what a difference no more bodyroll and loads more grip in the corners!
