Mk1 wiring, and headlights..

Featured Replies

Did Skoda fit the same looms to all of their Octavia's (similar to old Cavalier's/Vectra's)? I am wondering if the heated seat loom would be fitted to a 2002 Octavia.

Also, did any Octavia's come with HID lights as standard?

Thanks.

L&K and the vRS WRC came with HID's

Cheers! Wonder how much work it'll be to fit them to a non xenon car..... Might just use the lights and fit aftermarket HID's.

I've fitted an aftermarket HID kit to my car using the OEM xenon headlamps. Unless you can get the housings second hand it's not a cheap mod. The bare housing is around £90 and the cover with the internal wiring (although I only used part of it) is around another £45. You will then need to make a mount and modify the lamp to accept the leveling motor from the halogen lamp too as the xenon ones are expensive and use 4 wires to operate them rather than 3 for halogens.

I used the internal wiring harness from my halogen lamps so that no adapters were needed (the plug just unclips from the back) and swapped some of the connectors from the xenon wiring to get things to join up.

Thats pretty much what im going to do, but would rather get the lamps and then fit an aftermarket kit.

Anyone got any ideas about heat seats wiring?

Thought that was what I said?

No idea on the seat wiring though I'm afraid.
