How long have you had it, is it performing well, does it ever sound sluggish?

Yeah call up a fwe local places, itll save cash on postage for one of these beasts. Varta or Bosch probably the best make.

Ja, natürlich!

Ich habe eine Bosch S5: http://rb-aa.bosch.com/aa-batterien/gb/en/pkw/bat_s5.htm

Damn fine battery. Think I paid £90-100 for it last year. Perfect fit and has a really useful handle on top that the OE part lacks.

Had it for about a yr on the octy, i always use these batteries, have one on my mk2 golf too,

never sluggish and 5yr warrantly which costco (where i got it) honour without any issue.

Das is sehr gut ya

Previous battery came with the car when new eight years ago. Just replaced it with the same make VARTA. Five year guarantee for £55.40p

That's interesting, I didn't know Costco sold car batteries, I'm going there this Saturday so will have a look.

I've not noticed them in there before, where abouts do they keep them and how much did you pay?

yup, they do them in the tyre bay area, have bought 3-4 for different cars of mine over the yrs, they are always cheaper here than elsewhere as far as i have found, paid about 70ish iirc, hth

Many thanks for all your help, I'll take a look Saturday and report back on my findings

I also intend to replace the eight year old battery on my TDi, just a daft question, but how do you remove the terminal connectors, just been having a look and mine seems to have some odd looking clamp bolts.

Thanks.

iirc, you just slacken off the 10mm nut on the top and some special VAG magic enables you to lift off the clamp.
