Just an update, ordered a complete replacement drivers side mirror from eBay for £79.99 free p+p, it arrived in 2 days and is identical to the original apart from the outer cover being primered.

Working on the advice of several members (thanks to them) I have just spent the last hour swapping them over, I managed to break all the retaining clips on the door card during removal but fortunately I no a little trick with soldering iron.

Once I figured out the fixing points it was quite straight forward and the best news, I managed to use the old casing so I don't need to have the new mirror casing painted.

Next step............find the ar5e that broke it in the first place and kick it!!

Yep, I do. Thought they were std fit on the Elegance or am I mistaken?

aye me too, wasnt sure if they were standard or not, must try to find a brochure for the Mk2 when it came out!
