Drop Link Problems Again Argh!

Featured Replies

Righty ho ,

Got the infamous knocking noise in the early summer (june) and as i was away on holiday didnt get them fixed until August , Got my local garage to fit me new ones , and as he is a nice guy let me help out.

About 4 weeks ago they were shot, knocking agai

After seeing it was a relatively easy job to do , bought a new set from Andrew Watt auto stores for £20 and fitted them in an hour , was well chuffed , job well done B) or so i thought ....

Today on the way home from work approaching a roundabout heard the knocking noise again! and after rocking the car , its the same knocking as before :'( :'(

Any thoughts?

Apparently mondeo ones seem to be a common fix... but theres also a company that does strengthened ones....see if i can dig the link out...

FABIA (6Y2) 1.9 SDI Stabiliser Link Supplier Meyle Part Number 1160600000/HD

I cant put in a direct link unfortunately due to the way the site is built...you just need to input your car info then scroll over to Steeriing & Suspension > Steering & Susp Components > then search for the above part number...£11.66 ea.

Are you sure the nuts are tight, if they have slackened off a bit it will give the same noise as a duff drop link.

DB.

Did you solve your problem, were the nuts slack ?
