Hi guys,

Newbie on the forum. Background? Well, after a stack of problems in the last 2 months, coupled with some p*ss poor service from my local dealers, I am looking to get shot of my BMW 120d and have decided to take the plunge with an Ocatvia VRS TDI.

Haven't decided yet whether to go for DSG or not but it will definitley be a TDI (max 1 year old as opposed to brand new)....so, looking for some advice!

I have to confess that, until now, i have been a bit of a badge snob but my experience with BMW has certainly got rid of that trait. People have nothing but good to say about Skodas so that's why i'm here I guess!

Cheers,

Loz.

Welcome along!!

You won't regret the change ;)

Hi and welcome aboard.

Welcome Loz, you are not the first to jump ship from BMW (myself included) and certainly won't be the last!

Have a good read of the Octavia II and Superb II forums regarding the DSG box, there are numerous threads in there explaining all the issues owners have had with them, then once you have all the facts you can make an un-blinkered decision on whether the box is for you or not .

Thanks mate. To be honest, the only reason I was considering the DSG is for the MFSW as I'm not sure I can cope without it...is that sad?!

Other than that, its manual all the way for me!

Been looking at everything from A4s to Seat Exeos (yes, I know....same car!) but the VRS ticks all the boxes, if I can get one with rain sensors too...it is truly pathetic that you get used to stuff like that and a MFSW and the find them impossible to live without!
